Kesas Highway Good news 20 cents discount

From tomorrow ( January 15, 2013) they are giving you and me a 20 sen discount.

But:

The operators of the Kesas Highway make RM19,668,000 every month. That's RM236,016,000 every year. The highway has been collecting toll since 1996. So that's 16 years. Ok allowing for gradual toll rate increases, traffic volume etc. let's say they collect RM200,000,000 a year. That means they have collected perhaps RM3,200,000,000.

PETALING JAYA: Toll charges on the Shah Alam (Kesas) Highway have been reduced by between 10 sen and 40 sen for the different categories of vehicles, effective yesterday.

Works Minister Datuk Shaziman Abu Mansor announced that the new toll charge for cars will be RM2, down by 20 sen from RM2.20.

Toll is charged at three points along the 34.5km Kesas Highway, which stretches from the Sri Petaling interchange in Kuala Lumpur to the Pandamaran interchange in Klang.

The toll plazas are located at Awan Besar East (Kuala Lumpur-bound) and Awan Besar West (Subang Jaya/Klang-bound), and at Sunway and Kemuning.
