WCT obtains RM341.9m contract from Petronas

KUALA LUMPUR: WCT Holdings Bhd’s wholly-owned subsidiary WCT Bhd has accepted a letter of award from Petronas Refinery and Petrochemical Corporation Sdn Bhd worth RM341.9 million.
A filing with Bursa Malaysia today shows that the letter of award is for the provision of Package 20C1: Common Construction Access and Permanent Roads within the RAPID Site at Pengerang, Johor.
WCT said the scope of works of the contract include the development and construction of all the common permanent and temporary roads, temporary drainage system, temporary drainage culverts, permanent bridges and road crossings, cable and utilities crossings, car and bus parking bay, among others.
The scope of work also includes the maintenance of all roads, temporary drains and culverts, bridges throughout RAPID construction period; the maintenance of the temporary access road within RAPID site, and the maintenance of the access road outside RAPID site and haulage road from Teluk Ramunia wharf to RAPID site boundary.
The contract, which shall commence from the date of the letter of award (July 18), is expected to contribute positively to the group’s future earnings and net assets, WCT said.
