PETALING JAYA: Bumiputra allocations of the two billion additional units of Amanah Saham Wawasan 2020 (ASW 2020), which were made available on Monday, are still available.
A Permodalan Nasional Berhad statement said sales of the bumiputra units were still continuing. Of the total units available, 51% had been set aside for bumiputras and 49% for non-bumiputras.
All the non-bumiputra units had been fully subscribed. “A total of 980 million units capped at 20,000 unit per account-holder, were snapped up by 11.50am,” PNB said.
It said sales started simultaneously at 8am on Monday at Amanah Saham Nasional Berhad (ASNB) branches and Pos Malaysia networks nationwide, and at 9.15am at ASNB agents comprising Maybank, CIMB Bank and RHB Bank.
PNB president and group chief executive officer Tan Sri Hamad Kama Piah Che Othman said those who missed out on could still subscribe to the variable-priced unit trust funds such as Amanah Saham Gemilang and Amanah Saham Nasional 3.
The ASW 2020 is a fixed-price unit trust fund for Malaysians aged six months and above.
It is also listed in the Employees Provident Fund withdrawal scheme. ASW 2020 was launched with a fund size of three billion units in 1996, and its total fund size now stood at 12.42 billion units.
