14/07/2009: Unconfirmed report says the voter turnout for Manek Urai bye-election has exceeded the 85% mark as at 3.25 pm today. Some quarters say the final count could exceed 90% when polling close at 5 pm today, even though the crowds have eased at the polling centres after a majority of them having cast their ballots in the morning and afternoon.
Sources within Malaysiakini news website quoted Kelantan PAS election director Abdul Fatah Harun as saying that the Islamic PAS party has retained the Manek Urai state seat with a majority of nearly 2,000 votes.
