Kumpulan Fima Bhd reported unaudited consolidated earnings results for the first quarter ended June 30, 2009. For the quarter, the company reported profit attributable to equity holders of the parent MYR 18,455,000 or 7.01 sen per basic share on revenue of MYR 92,662,000 against profit attributable to equity holders of the parent MYR 18,455,000 or 3.79 sen per basic share on revenue of MYR 92,215,000 for the same period a year ago. Profit before taxation was MYR 31,792,000 against MYR 26,201,000 for the same period a year ago. Purchase of property, plant and equipment was MYR 4,700,000 against MYR 5,129,000 for the same period a year ago. Net cash generated from operating activities was MYR 17,511,000 against MYR 22,754,000 for the same period a year ago. The profit before taxation increase was generally due to recognition of capital gain of MYR 5.25 million from the disposal of Banding Island Resort.
