KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 20 — Datuk Seri Shahrizat Abdul Jalil announced today that she will be contesting for the Wanita Umno chief’s position putting to rest intense speculation over the wing’s transition plans.
She will take on Datuk Seri Rafidah Aziz for the post.
In the Wanita wing’s original transition plan, Rafidah had promised to hand over the reins to Shahrizat in June.
