Top Ten Tips of SAVING Electricity at Home

WITH the electricity tariff unlikely to go down any time soon, it would be more practical to take some simple electricity saving measures.

Even if one’s electricity bill is not too high, these tips will help and allow us to play a part in conserving the environment.

1. Allow sunlight to come into the room instead of using lamps.

2. Always switch off all lights and electrical appliances after use.

3. Avoid leaving appliances in standby mode. (Expecially your TV)

4. Use electrical fans to replace air-conditioners.

5. When using air-conditioner, set the temperature higher. (Usually set at 22C)

6. Lower the temperature of water heaters.

7. Boil water on a gas stove instead of using the electric kettle.

8. Sweep with brooms instead of using vacuum cleaners.

9. Set the fridge temperature highers.
