The son of a multi-millionaire who allegedly filmed himself raping or having sex with scores of models and actresses surrendered to the police late yesterday after 23 days on the run, in a case that has riveted Taiwan. Justin Lee, who has been on the wanted list since August 1, drove some four hours from southern Taiwan back to Taipei and, accompanied by three lawyers, turned himself in to Taipei prosecutors at 8:35pm, a spokesman for the prosecutor's office said at a press conference at 9:30pm. The 27-year-old was arrested on the spot and was being questioned, the official said. A woman who harboured Lee over the past 23 days in her Changhua county home yesterday separately surrendered to police in the central city of Taichung and was escorted to Taipei. It is unclear what their relationship is. Lee's arrest capped three weeks of the sensational case, one of the hottest topics in Taiwan's cyberspace that also raised the awareness of sexual violence. It all began earlier this month when Next Magazine - known for its exposes of celebrities and politicians - alleged that Justin Lee, whose father Lee Yueh-tsang is a director of Yuanta Financial Holding, had raped many celebrities and filmed the acts. |
