KUALA LUMPUR: The monthly allowances of MPs will increase from RM6,580.59 to RM11,000 w.e.f. from 1 January, 2015 under the Members of Parliament (Remuneration) (Amendment) Bill 2014 which had its first reading on Wednesday.
MPs to get more pay
The Bill involves an additional RM14.75 million per annum.
KUALA LUMPUR: The monthly allowances of MPs will increase from RM6,580.59 to RM11,000 w.e.f. from 1 January, 2015 under the Members of Parliament (Remuneration) (Amendment) Bill 2014 which had its first reading on Wednesday.
Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department, Shahidan Kassim, tabled the Bill.
The Dewan Rakyat Speaker will get RM20,000 per month, up from RM14,907.20, while his deputy will get RM16,000. The present salary is RM10,847.65.
Senate members will draw RM7,000 per month, up from the present RM4,112.79.
The Bill involves an additional RM14.75 million per annum.
