KUALA LUMPUR (Dec 14): Perusahaan Otomobil Kedua Sdn Bhd (Perodua) is increasing the prices for its Axia G model. The price hike includes the cost to install the anti-lock braking system (ABS) in the vehicles starting from January 2016.

In a statement today, Perodua president and chief executive officer Datuk Dr Aminar Rashid Salleh said the ABS aimed to enhance the safety of the manufacturer's vehicles.

"Bookings made from Dec 11 onwards will be subjected to the new price and delivery will be from January 2016 onwards," Aminar said.

According to Axia's latest price list on Perodua's website, the manual transmission 1,000c Axia G is priced from RM32,127.16 in Peninsular Malaysia.

The automatic version's price starts from RM35,127.15.
