A stroke is the rapidly developing loss of brain function(s) due to disturbance in the blood supply to the brain.
Strokes can be classified into two major categories: ischemic and hemorrhagic. Ischemia is due to interruption of the blood supply (80 %) , while hemorrhage is due to rupture of a blood vessel or an abnormal vascular structure(20%).
