05-09-2008: BNBBC on ‘study trip’ to China next week by Sharon Tan

PETALING JAYA: The Barisan Nasional Backbenchers Club (BNBBC) is organising a 12-day trip to China for its members starting next week and talk has naturally surfaced that it is a move to keep the MPs away from Opposition Leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.
The entire political field and the country have been kept in suspense on whether Anwar will be able to muster enough support via the defection of BN MPs towards forming the government by his self-imposed deadline on Malaysia Day.

The club’s chairman Datuk Seri Tiong King Sing yesterday confirmed the China trip but denied it had anything to do with the possibility of BN MPs crossing over to Pakatan Rakyat by Sept 16.
